Свет помог собрать пластик в 3D-форму
Интересную технологию разработали в Университете Северной Каролины: здесь научились складывать трёхмерные фигуры из полимера с помощью света. Весь процесс авторы работы описали в статье для научного журнала Soft Matter.
Как это иногда бывает, открытие было сделано совершенно случайно: исследователи изучали эффект памяти формы у полимеров. В ходе экспериментов они решили нанести на полимер черные толстые полосы и посмотреть, что будет.
Как известно, черный обладает высокой поглощательной способностью в отношение энергии света. В результате получилось, что полимер под слоем черной краски разогревался сильнее и начинал сжиматься.
Если же вырезать из листа пластика развёртку фигуры и нанести на соответствующие сгибы черную краску, тогда под действием света из неё складывается требуемая 3D-форма. Таким образом ученым уже удалось «собрать» куб, пирамиду и несколько других более сложных фигур.
